Out-of-Home Respite services for people with a disability

If you are a carer of someone with a disability, we can provide respite care when you need to recharge or focus on other commitments. Even though many families take great joy in providing care to their loved ones so that they can remain at home, the physical, emotional and financial consequences for the family caregiver can be overwhelming without some support, such as respite. Respite provides a break for the family caregiver, which may prove beneficial to the health of the caregiver.

Respite is also a fantastic experience for people with a disability, giving them a chance to meet new people and try new activities.

Choose the respite service that’s right for you

We have a range of services to suit different people and situations. These services are available for both children and adults with a disability, and can be on a regular basis, or just from time to time when you need them the most.

No matter what option you choose, support will be provided by dedicated staff who are focused on your needs, and those of the person they’re caring for.

In-Home (flexible) respite services:

Our support staff can come to your home and provide flexible support for a child or adult with a disability – whether it’s for a few hours a day, an evening, or a weekend.

Emergency respite services:

If a crisis or emergency happens, we can help with emergency support. As well as helping with the immediate day-to-day needs of the person with a disability you support, we can also work with you to help put together a more permanent plan for the future if needed.

Recreational Activities and Programs:

Our recreational programs can also be fantastic respite for families and carers. We offer many different activities and outings, both in groups and one-on-one. Activities can be chosen and tailored to suit each individual, and can range from seeing a movie, to having dinner, or playing sport.

As well as giving carers a break, they give people with a disability a chance to have fun and make new friends.
